They say that timing is one of the most important things in business. But how do you figure out if your timing is right? Regardless of if you are an entrepreneur or working for a large organization, timing is becoming increasingly important in this dynamic and ever changing world.

This talk will introduce drivers of good timing, why business model impact is essential, and how to apply those factors to your own situation. Through a “Why Now Session” walkthrough, this talk will introduce a methodology for you or your organization to use a timing assessment to evaluate opportunities. Based on research into market entrance advantages and surveys of product failures and successes, this talk will leave you with a process to step through your own timing considerations.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Paul Orlando has built and operated startup and innovation accelerators around the world, enabling organizations to unlock value in new ways. Paul is also a professor of entrepreneurship at USC, a former startup co-founder, and TechCrunch Disrupt hackathon winner. His focus areas include unit economics and market entrance timing (the “why now” question). Paul has a BA from Cornell and an MBA from Columbia. American politics from behind the scenes by MIT alum Hans D. Høeg

Club of Norway

Thursday, December 5, 7:00pm - 8:30pm (Europe/Berlin)

More Info & RSVP

Event Details

For five years, MIT Alum Hans Høeg was chief of staff for one of Washington's most rebellious Republicans.

In 2012, Hans Høeg from Drammen received a phone call that would turn most things upside down. On the other end of the line was fellow MIT student and friend Thomas Massie. Massie, a self-proclaimed hillbilly from the US state of Kentucky, had just been elected to Congress in Washington D.C. And now he urgently needed a chief of staff.

I told him that I didn't really know American politics, but he thought that I wouldn't behave like all the others in Washington, and that that was exactly why it had to be me, says Høeg.

Twelve years have passed, Trump has just been elected president for the second time, and Høegs insights and experience is more sought after than ever.

On December 5, Høeg will share his thoughts with  the MIT, Harvard and Stanford alumni community in Norway about what goes on behind the scenes  in US politics.

Høeg is author of two bestselling Norwegian books based on his years in US politics: "Vår mann i Washington" and "Trump - enkelt forklart"
