U.S. News Rankings: MIT First in Undergrad Engineering, Third in US, More

U.S. News and World Report released its 2019 Best U.S. Colleges Rankings earlier this month and, once again, MIT placed at the top—or near by—in a number of categories.

The Institute tied for the third-ranked national university in the U.S., up from fifth in 2018, and was once again named the best undergraduate engineering program. MIT also placed first in nine other categories, second in four categories, including undergraduate business programs, and was named in the top 10 in eight more.

MIT’s top-10 placements in the 2019 undergraduate categories are listed below.

MIT’s undergraduate rankings in U.S. News echo the Institute’s placement in the magazine’s listing of best graduate schools released in the spring. There, MIT earned 13 first-place rankings there, including top graduate engineering school for the 30th consecutive year and top-10 rankings in 12 other categories.
