US News & World Report ranked MIT the top graduate engineering school for the 30th consecutive year, according to its 2019 ranking of best graduate schools. Twelve other MIT graduate schools and departments were top ranked, and 12 more finished in the top 10.

The Institute has held the top engineering ranking in US News since 1990, the year that the publication first released graduate rankings. Six more engineering disciplines earned top spots in the 2019 report.

The publication also listed MIT’s Sloan of School of Management as the fifth-ranked graduate business program and named two Sloan disciplines as best in field.

MIT also ranked high in doctoral science programs, including the top spot in two categories.

In total, the Institute ranked in the top 10 in 28 categories, including additional top spots in physics and economics.

The US News & World Report rankings come on the heels of the annual university rankings released by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), which listed MIT as number one in 12 subjects and in the top five in seven more. The QS World University Rankings have rated MIT as the number one university in the world for six straight years. Read the MIT News article for more details
