Why do you volunteer? Each year, more than 14,000 alumni volunteer with MIT in roles that vary from managing club and class activities to offering career support with the Institute Career Assistance Network to  acting as ambassadors and advocates for future MIT students. With a number of volunteer opportunities, alumni have many reasons for giving their time to the MIT community.

The MIT Alumni Leadership Conference (ALC) gives current volunteers and those interested in volunteering a chance to return to campus to gain new skills, network, and learn from other alumni. If you haven’t yet registered for ALC, there’s still time! Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. ET tonight. Learn more and register here: https://alc.mit.edu/

We want to hear why you volunteer. Tweet us your reasons for volunteering by using the hashtag #MITALC. Are you already registered for ALC?  Look for note cards around events at ALC and share with us your reasons for volunteering. Turn your card in at the registration table or to any MIT staff member.

Get a preview of ALC and hear from MIT Alumni Association President John Chisholm '75, SM '76 in a Twitter chat, September 21 at 3 p.m. ET. Chisholm will preview the upcoming conference, talk about his new book Unleash Your Inner Company, and take questions on entrepreneurship and startups. Join the chat and ask questions with #MITalum.
