When MIT announced on March 10 that the remainder of the spring 2020 semester would transition to remote learning, brothers Kevin Lu ’22 and Andrew Lu ’20 were among the many students who moved home. But unlike many students, they had an MIT alum waiting for them there. Their mother, Din Shih SM ’93—an MIT Sloan graduate and now managing director at Athena Partners LLC—could empathize both with the challenges of finishing a rigorous MIT semester online and the ways they missed the MIT community on campus.
