Your resume is the first impression you make on a potential new employer—so how do you make sure it’s a positive one?

Watch this recording of a recent Career Lunch & Learn to hear recruiters from three top employers of MIT alumni describe some of the best resumes they’ve seen and give spontaneous feedback on resumes submitted in advance by alumni participating in the live webinar.

Resumes run the gamut from short and simple to long and elaborately designed. When the three recruiters—from Wayfair, Netflix, and Samsung Research America—weighed in on what gets their attention, the consensus was that clarity is key.

According to Kimberly Howell of Wayfair, “I will never judge a resume for being too simple, but if it’s so complex that I can’t find information, that’s going to put me off a little bit.”

The three recruiters also walked through a sample resume section by section, providing tips on how to make yourself stand out and how to organize the information.
