Amidst finals and all-nighters, MIT students may feel like they’re seeing things during the last days of the fall semester. So when a Mars rover appeared on Kresge Oval, it may have caused a double take or two. But it was really there.
The finals week hack features a realistic-looking cardboard rover—complete with Santa hat—and what looks like landing gear. The rover is looking up to the sky, perhaps contemplating its new life on planet MIT.
There’s no word on how long the rover will explore MIT and where it will go next, but it joins a long list of end of the semester hacks that can provide a welcome distraction.
