Slice of MIT blogroller Paul Levy '72, MCP '74, whose Running a Hospital blog recounts aspects of his life as head of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, has started a blog rally.
What's a blog rally? Wikipedia is on top of that: "simultaneous presentation of identical or similar material on numerous blogs, for the purpose of engaging large numbers of readers...."
Levy's rally is aimed at saving the Boston Globe, which is threatened with closure by its owner--the New York Times Company--unless some $20 million in concessions are wrested from employees within a month. He's asking other bloggers to post a paragraph of support soliciting ideas that could increase readership and save money.
This morning's Boston Globe, in an extraordinarily self-conscious fight for its life, published news stories on management cuts as well as Levy's blog rally.
