
Special Recognition and Appreciation
In 2017 MIT paid tribute to the two founders of this long-standing event, Bonny Kellermann ’72 and Bob Ferrara ’67, who were celebrating their own reunions. The two were given an award of special recognition and appreciation for their creation and dedicated leadership of the Tech Challenge Games from 1992-2017. In the future, the contests will be referred to as "the Bonny Kellermann and Bob Ferrara Tech Challenge Games".

2017 Design Challenge Orange Team
Tech Challenge Games' most creative contest. Using only materials provided, teams designed the ultimate device to launch assorted items into their team's catcher bin.

2017 Paper Airplane Contest
Participants engineered the perfect paper airplane using supplies provided by MIT. Winning points were awarded to the team with the most airplanes landing in the team's target and for the team that created the plane that flew the farthest.
