This month’s MIT Alumni Leadership Conference (ALC), which takes place September 16–17 in person and on campus, will bring to light the many ways that members of the MIT community work together to make a better world in their roles as volunteer leaders. (Register by Wednesday, September 7.)
The multiday conference will feature opportunities to foster connections with your fellow alumni volunteers, leadership development programs, and only-at-MIT content and conversations with senior leaders. Highlights include a special thank you from MIT President L. Rafael Reif, who announced earlier this year that he plans to step down as president of MIT at the end of 2022.
This year’s ALC keynote speakers, professors of Media Arts and Sciences Deb Roy SM ’95, PhD ’99 and Rosalind Picard SM ’86, ScD ’91, will discuss their research, with a focus on how modern technologies can be in service of better human health and wellbeing, and how attendees can apply those technologies to their role as MIT volunteers.
And, of course, volunteers will celebrate at ALC! The conference includes the festive Leadership Awards Celebration, where MIT will recognize the outstanding service of its volunteers. Attendees are also invited to the casual Puzzles and Pints event on Friday and networking breakfasts and lunches throughout the weekend.
Scan the list of selected featured speakers below, then view the full schedule for the full list of 30-plus events, with something for every MIT volunteer. Registration closes Wednesday, September 7— sign up today!
