Total Solar Eclipse: Idaho by MIT Alumni Association on Exposure

In August 2017, more than 50 MIT alumni and friends, including MIT Professor of Planetary Sciences Richard Binzel, took part in an MIT Alumni Travel Program trip to Idaho to witness the first total solar eclipse in the US in nearly 100 years.

The six-day journey, based around Sun Valley, featured daily tours, social gatherings, and scientific lectures, and culminated on August 21, when the travelers visited Brigham Young University–Idaho to witness full totality of the eclipse, which lasted two minutes, 17 seconds.
