Thinking of a new job or changing careers? The MIT Alumni Association’s Virtual Career Fair, January 29, will connect you to some 20 companies and help you explore new options. Best of all, you can do it online via your computer, tablet, or mobile device from anywhere.

Explore career interests in an interactive chat online, January 29.

The virtual career fair, designed for mid- and early-career alumni, uses a platform designed by vendor Brazen Careerist. Registered alumni can meet representatives of some 20 companies in virtual chat rooms for one-on-one informal interviews during the fair, which runs from noon to 4:00 p.m. EST. A time limit on each encounter will keep the process moving. You can explore particular job opportunities or discuss your long-term career interests.

Register now to secure your place. Then you can add a resume, a brief work history, or your LinkedIn profile. Or simply research the companies.

What do we know about the companies? This is an MIT-exclusive opportunity so all of the companies want to discuss job opportunities with Institute alumni and all have current jobs available. You can learn more about the companies, including Medtronic, Two Sigma, Oracle, Solar City, Yelp, and Blue Origin, on the registration site. Read a Slice of MIT story about one of the companies—Infinite Analytics, a predictive marketing and analytics startup founded by Akash Bhatia MBA ’12 and Purushotham Botla SM ’13.

"MIT alumni are some of the most sought-after talent around the globe, and, as this unique population continues to develop and manage their own career paths, the Alumni Association is seeking new ways to support their career exploration and transition," says Ellen Stahl, Alumni Career Services program director.

Hi Nicole,
Sorry I missed this. Will you be doing it again or is there a way to understand the positions being offered?

Do you need to participate for all 4 hours if you register for the Virtual Career Fair?
I would appreciate a better understanding of the commitment of time and focus for the afternoon.

Thanks,
Vinny Pietropaolo

How do I sign up to be an employer host? Even if too late for this go round, I might be interested for next time.

So sad. I missed this job fair. I am searching for a job for healthcare assistant in UK. Can you please tell me that when will you organize the next job fair?

Hi Rick,

Unfortunately there's no way to access the opportunities once the fair is over. We do hope to do it again in the future and will keep alumni informed. You can find our ongoing career resources here: https://alum.mit.edu/benefits/CareerGuidance -Nicole

Hi Vincent,

Participation is for as little or as long as you like. Wait times at the start of the fair, much like an in person fair would be tend to be longest. The great part about virtual is you can wait in line, turn up your speakers and when a rep is ready you will be notified with a ding so you can multi-task while you wait and you can wait in multiple lines. When a line you are in is free, you will be filtered to that line first, and so on.

Thanks,
Nicole
