This year's conference coincides with the inauguration of L. Rafael Reif as MIT's 17th president. A special seating section will be reserved for ALC at the inaugural ceremony and community events are scheduled throughout the weekend. Preview all inauguration festivities.
The 2012 ALC will highlight MIT's newest initiatives and innovations, and feature sessions and events tailored to club and group leaders, reunion planners, educational counselors, and fundraisers, including:
- The two-part Inaugural Celebration Symposium: The Future of Education: Learn about new online learning initiatives–like MITx and edX–and how MIT is leading the creation of technology-enabled, personalized educational opportunities.
- Maximizing Your MIT Network: Hear from a panel of MIT alumni volunteers about the importance of maintaining a strong alumni network and what can be done to support MIT locally and globally.
- Encompass Overview: Walk through a successful club migration to Encompass, the Alumni Association's new online platform.
- Leadership Awards Celebration: Celebrate the outstanding volunteers—including Bronze Beaver recipients Douglas G. Bailey '72, SM '74, ME '75, Charles W. Johnson BE '55, and Philip C. Kwok '61—honored by the Alumni Association.
Follow ALC on on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Staff and alumni will be live-tweeting throughout ALC (hashtag: mitalc), which will allow attendees another way to interact and receive updated information throughout the conference.
