ALC ImageThe 2015 MIT Alumni Leadership Conference (ALC) takes place later this month (Sept. 25–26) and online registration ends this Friday, Sept. 11. ALC is the signature event for MIT volunteers and alumni looking to reconnect with MIT.

This year’s conference offers workshops and networking opportunities for everyone, whether you’re longtime volunteer or a recent graduate looking to get more involved with MIT.

The full schedule includes more than 40 workshops and sessions, plus nearly a dozen general and affinity-specific networking events. In addition to growing your volunteer toolkit, you’ll hear behind-the-scenes Institute updates from MIT leaders, faculty, and current students.

Unsure about registering for ALC? Check out the FAQs below then register for the conference by Sept. 11. We hope to see you back on campus later this month!

Who’s speaking?

Hear from an inspiring combination of MIT administration, faculty, students, and alumni! MIT Chancellor Cynthia Barnhart SM '86, PhD '88 will interview current students about life at present-day MIT. And Chancellor for Academic Advancement W. Eric Grimson PhD '80 will moderate a discussion with the academic deans from MIT's five schools.

What will I learn about MIT?

Assistant Professor Renée Richardson Gosline will share how alumni can contribute to a caring MIT community. Plus, MIT's official "Maker Czar," Professor Martin Culpepper SM '97, PhD '00 will discuss why maker spaces are vital to real-world success.

What’s new at ALC?

This year’s conference includes career-specific sessions focused on expanding your MIT network. Certified career coach Ann Guo '98 will detail a systematic approach to building a career.

You’ll have an opportunity to share your own career experiences then hear an MIT career counselor discuss the best ways to solicit and receive advice. And Friday evening’s “Startup in America” will feature a panel of foreign-born MIT alumni turned successful entrepreneurs.

What else is happening around campus that weekend?

The fall semester will be in full swing and campus will be buzzing with activity! Check out the MIT Glass Lab's Great Glass Pumpkin Patch, visit the exhibits on display at the MIT Museum, or check out an Engineers varsity home game. View the full schedule of campus events.

I can only attend for one day—is that OK?

We recognize that you may be able to only attend for one day of the conference. You are welcome to register at a discounted rate for a single day, or register only for Friday’s evening entrepreneurship panel.

How can I network before the conference?

Join the conversation online using the #MITALC hashtag on social media. Download the MIT ALC app in iTunes or in Google Play, then visit the ALC Networking site to see who has already registered!

Can I attend Saturday’s Leadership Awards Celebration?

Yes! The festive celebration—which honors MIT’s most dedicated volunteers—includes a one-hour cocktail reception and a multi-course meal. The full costs on the celebration is included in your registration fee.

Where do I register?
