Still looking for a good summer read? Here are lists of some sci-fi/fantasy books you might have missed, courtesy of library volunteers for the MIT Science Fiction Society. I asked them for two categories of books: recently published novels destined to become classics and overlooked gems. The term "overlooked" proved somewhat controversial—how ignored does a book have to be? And obviously these are subjective opinions. Regardless, there might be some books here you have yet to enjoy. And please, share your picks for must-read books in the comments.

What about books by Jacqueline Carey? (like the Kushiel's Legacy series?)
