Join LBGTQ+ Services for the 2025 hybrid Lavender Graduation on Friday, May 2nd at 4:30 pm US Eastern Time to celebrate our LBGTQ+ MIT undergraduate and graduate/post doc students who have graduated or will be graduating in 2025 and the wonderful things they've accomplished.  This event is in collaboration with and hosted by our friends at Alumnx Pride and the MIT Alumni Association.

Please make sure to RSVP and share within your networks so you can receive the information on how to participate. Graduates must RVSP to participate.

The entire MIT community (students, alumni, staff, faculty, family, friends) is invited to enjoy and be with us on this date to recognize our grads. There will be music, speeches, graduate celebrations, a mini-dance party, and more.  This event will not be recorded, but it will be a hybrid event as portions will be live streamed. 

Please make sure to RSVP and share within your networks so you can receive the Zoom link to participate. You may also consider a gift to support LGBTQ+ students and programming.

MIT Diploma & Graduation
Changes to the way your first and middle names appear on your diploma can be made within the degree application without going through a legal name change. You would just need to change your name in WebSIS. It is your responsibility to ensure that the information is accurate and up to date. To read how to have the name you would like on your diploma please go to the Registrar's website here. You can also keep your legal name on your diploma but have your preferred name read out loud at graduation. To learn more about that please email Philip Clyff.

You may also request a replacement diploma if the original is lost or damaged, or in the case of a gender change.By default, your MIT diploma displays your legal name at the time of your graduation; it is also the name read at the Commencement ceremonies. Join fellow MIT alumni and friends for dinner and an evening Columbus Symphony concert on Saturday, May 17. As part of its annual Russian composer festival, the Symphony will perform both the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto and the Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 6 (“Pathetique”). Maestro Rossen Milanov will conduct, and Aubree Oliverson is the soloist. Discounted tickets with loge seating are just $80 through us for this event.

We will meet for dinner prior to the performance at 5:45 at the Spaghetti Warehouse, 150 S. High St, a short three minute walk from the Ohio Theatre. A Symphony member or senior staff person will brief us about the program, soloist, and composer. Dinner is not included in the price. We will order from the menu, and it is a Dutch treat. (You can join us for dinner if you already have purchased tickets separately; register for the “Dinner only” option or email Dave so we can give the restaurant the correct count.) Paid parking is available at the nearby Statehouse Underground Parking Garage and the Columbus Commons Underground Parking Garage.

To conduct implosion experiments and basic physics experiments in support of the National Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) program. 2. To develop new laser and materials technologies. 3. To provide graduate and undergraduate education in electro-optics, high-power lasers, high-energy-density physics, plasma physics, and nuclear fusion technology. 4. To operate the National Laser Users' Facility. 5. To conduct research and development in advanced technology related to high-energy-density phenomena.
