In February 2002 I left the Space Sciences Laboratory at U. C. Berkeley, and all my ongoing research, to undertake a major turn. Since then I have been up to:

teaching physics remotely through Stanford's E.P.G.Y. [2002-2003]
two months in sub-Saharan Africa with Cosmos Education. Some of my materials and thoughts are online.
backcountry skiing and climbing in Wyoming, the Cascades, the Canadian Rockies, etc.

attended the G6B conference (shadow conference to the G8 summit) (Calgary)
attended the CUSP conference (Toronto)
attended ICAPE's Heterodox Economics conference (Kansas City, Missouri)
in September 2003 began grad school -- yes, all over again -- at U.B.C. in Advanced Rhetoric.
