Community Catalyst Leadership Program

"CCLP gave me the unique opportunity of learning first-hand from an MIT alum who has successfully led a life of entrepreneurship and leadership. My discussions with him strengthened my passion towards entrepreneurship and have given me more confidence to pursue one of my long-term goals: starting a company of my own." -- Rob McQueen’12

Established in 2007, the Community Catalyst Leadership Program (CCLP) asks participants to engage in a journey of personal leadership development and reflection. Each participant is paired with an MIT alumnus/a in a coaching relationship designed to meet each student's personal development goals. This program is open to any member of the Junior class, regardless of prior participation in leadership opportunities at MIT.

This past February, we celebrated the 5th year of the Community Catalyst Leadership Program! Click here for highlights from the evening.

Students leave this program with:

  • A greater understanding of the nature and process of leadership.
  • A useful and practical conception of their personal leadership competencies and styles.
  • The ability to reflect at regular intervals on the practical application of theory in their daily lives as student leaders and on the guidance and insight they have received from a variety of mentors.
  • An enhanced appreciation for alumni engagement and identification of pathways to stay engaged with MIT as active alumni.
  • A peer network that will connect them and allow them to exchange ideas, pursue learning, and share strategies to achieve personal and professional growth and success throughout their lives.

In the past five years, CCLP has seen more than 400 applicants, with over 150 students having successfully completed the program.
