MIT150: Ways to Get Involved

The 150 days of celebration honoring MIT's sesquicentennial are not just about the community located near Cambridge. The tributes are meant to reach a truly global population. Indeed, MIT150 is designed to showcase how MIT serves the world by tackling 21st century problems. There are numerous ways to get involved regardless of where you live. MIT volunteers in communities worldwide are planning special gatherings that bring the spirit of MIT150 to you and help raise the visibility of MIT in your region.

Charter Day event locations will be posted later this month.

Charter Day

The sesquicentennial's centerpiece is the MIT150 Next Century Convocation on April 10, 2011, commemorating the 1861 signing of MIT's charter. This is a formal academic event honoring the scholarly accomplishments of MIT faculty and students. All members of the MIT community are invited.

Can't make it to campus? Alumni will gather worldwide for festive celebrations and MIT150 Next Century Convocation viewing parties. To plan an event in your local area, email mit150events@mit.edu.
