2012 Technology Day Program, American Transformations: the Next Industrial Revolution

A new industrial revolution is taking place. It builds on recent advances in computation, computationally based materials, and robotic processes. It has the potential to transform manufacturing not only in the US but in all established industrial centers as well. Advanced manufacturing holds the promise of injecting new vitality into sectors of the economy thought to be in decline and thrust America again into a world leader in manufacturing. But, what is advanced manufacturing and how can it transform industry? What is required? This program will shed light onto the revolution in manufacturing that is under way.

Technology Day Luncheon

The Tech Day Luncheon is the perfect end to the Tech Day program. Classes gather with President Hockfield and alumni leaders to enjoy fine food and celebrate the contributions alumni make to MIT.

Tech Challenge Games

After a day of heady discussion, it's time for the 21st annual Tech Challenge Games. Alumni and their families gather for entertaining, MIT-style competitions. It's an afternoon of fun for alumni, spouses, children, and even innocent bystanders. Watch video of the action.
