Reunion Planning Toolkit

Tech Reunions are the principal activities of MIT classes and represent the largest annual gathering of MIT alumni. Reunion planning typically takes place in the 12 - 18 months preceding a reunion, during which a committee of class volunteers plans activities and encourages reunion attendance. Working collaboratively with MIT reunion staff, this committee plans a reunion that reacquaints classmates with one another and renews connections to MIT.

The investment of time and energy made by class volunteers is essential to making Tech Reunions a success. The resources below are available to help you plan your reunion. These tools are not a substitute for communication between class volunteers and the Alumni Association staff. Don’t forget that the reunion staff in the Alumni Association is also available as a resource. Please contact the staff at either 617-253-8824 or reunions@mit.edu if you have questions or need any additional information.

Tech Reunions Guidebook

In addition to the resources on this site, you can download the Tech Reunions Guidebook. This how-to book contains information on reunion committee roles, event planning as well as reunion marketing and communication. The appendix contains samples and templates used successfully by other reunion classes. This guidebook is designed to give class volunteers an overview of the important role they play in planning Tech Reunions. It should provide you with a foundation of essential information for your volunteer efforts.
