Sigma Chi Fraternity Celebrates 125 Years at MIT

Sigma Chi, the oldest continuously operating fraternity at MIT, celebrated its 125th anniversary at the Institute in April. Over 350 alumni and friends, spanning multiple generations and 70 years, traveled back to Sigma Chi and campus for the weekend-long event. President Hockfield and several other MIT colleagues joined in the celebration. The pictures and stories on the Sigma Chi Web site illustrate that there is something special about the residential experience at MIT and the role it plays in an MIT education. A highlight of the Saturday evening ball included a serenade to the tune of "The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi" (pictured).
