Volunteer Awards and National Volunteer Leadership Roles

Volunteer Awards

The Alumni Association's volunteer awards recognize outstanding accomplishment and service to the Alumni Association and MIT. The awards presented annually at the Alumni Leadership Conference include the Bronze Beaver Award, the Henry B. Kane '24 Award, the Harold E. Lobdell '17 Distinguished Service Award, the George B. Morgan '20 Award, and the Presidential Citation. Honorary Membership in the Alumni Association is presented at the annual Technology Day luncheon.

National Volunteer Leadership Roles

Alumni with demonstrated leadership skills participate in the governance of the Alumni Association and MIT by serving on the Association's Board of Directors and as alumni nominees to the MIT Corporation. Alumni with relevant academic or professional experience also serve as alumni nominees to Corporation visiting committees.

Alumni with relevant experience serve on the Association's national boards and committees, as defined in the Association's Bylaws:

  • Alumni Fund Board
  • Awards Committee
  • Committee on Nominations to Corporation Visiting Committees
  • Enterprise Forum Board
  • Technology Day Committee
