Volunteer Awards
The Alumni Association's volunteer awards recognize
outstanding accomplishment and service to the Alumni Association and
MIT. The awards presented annually at the Alumni Leadership Conference
include the Bronze Beaver Award, the Henry B. Kane '24 Award, the Harold
E. Lobdell '17 Distinguished Service Award, the George B. Morgan '20
Award, and the Presidential Citation. Honorary Membership in the Alumni
Association is presented at the annual Technology Day luncheon.
National Volunteer Leadership Roles
Alumni with demonstrated leadership skills participate in the governance
of the Alumni Association and MIT by serving on the Association's Board
of Directors and as alumni nominees
to the MIT Corporation. Alumni with relevant academic or professional
experience also serve as alumni nominees to Corporation
visiting committees.
Alumni with relevant experience serve on the Association's national
boards and committees, as defined in the Association's Bylaws:
- Alumni Fund Board
- Awards Committee
- Committee on Nominations to Corporation Visiting Committees
- Enterprise Forum Board
- Technology Day Committee
