Power of Participation
Power of Participation Challenge

Martin Tang SM '72 is offering another $100,000 challenge to the undergraduate MIT10 alumni—and this time, they get to vote on how his money will be spent, as long as they make a gift by June 30.

Giving to MIT

MIT continues to attract the brightest minds, to set new educational standards, and to pioneer new technological frontiers -- thanks to the financial support of alumni, parents, and friends. MIT has a unique opportunity to provide leadership to impact the quality of our shared human future on Earth from the tangible to the abstract. Find out how you can have an influence on MIT and by extension the world.

Give Now

MIT counts on the regular, annual giving from alumni like you. You can make an immediate impact by making your annual gift today through our online gift form or by phone at 617-253-0129.

Alumni Fund

Every gift to MIT makes a difference. Annual gifts provide the Institute with a stable source of income and create a bond between alumni and students. Big gifts may get the occasional headline, but the tens of thousands of annual smaller gifts personally touch the lives of MIT students and faculty every day. Over the past five years, nearly two-thirds of MIT undergraduate alumni and more than half of graduate degree-only alumni have made a gift to MIT.

Want to make a particular impact? You can support one of MIT's priorities or designate your gift to a program or fund you care about. Not sure what you would like to support? See our "Find what interests you" page to search for opportunities.

Reunion Giving

The quinquennial reunion campaigns continue to be a vital tradition at MIT that helps strengthen particular programs, classes, and student life. Although members of these classes represent only 20 percent of the undergraduate population, their contributions comprise 30 percent of undergraduate gifts in the annual Alumni Fund total.

Parents: Doubly Generous!

In addition to supplying MIT with the best and brightest, parents of MIT students and graduates also provide valuable gifts to the Institute. Last year, parents of MIT gave nearly $1.88 million to the Institute.

Matching Gifts

Make your gift go farther by participating in a third party's matching gift program. Many companies offer matching gift programs that can make your donation twice as effective. In some cases, retiree gifts are also matched. Find out here if your employer will match your gift.
