The FSILG Toolkit
Services for a Special Community

Fraternities, Sororities, and Independent Living Groups (FSILGs) have an honored place in the MIT community. The Alumni Association works with MIT and the FSILGs to preserve and extend this great legacy. Along with the Alumni Association, the following organizations are devoted to sustaining and improving the future of the FSILGs:

The toolkit items are grouped below into major categories. Please click on the category heading to review the items in that category.

If you would like more information than is provided in this toolkit, please contact either:

FSILG Past and Present
This section contains a list of the FSILGs present at MIT as well as a list of important dates for each and their alumni sites (where applicable).

Volunteers
Volunteers are the lifeblood of every FSILG Alumni House Corporation and Alumni Advisory Board. Here are some thoughts on volunteers roles, best practices, and suggestions that your peers have found useful.

Recognition
MIT values the work that alumni do for the chapters and also the work that chapters do in reaching out to their alumni. This section includes suggestions on how to thank and recognize your volunteers as well as information on the prestigious D. Reid Weedon '41 Award, which is presented annually to chapters with strong alumni relations programs.

Alumni Relations for Undergraduates
For a chapter to realize its full potential here at MIT, it is critical to have a strong alumni relations program and alumni involvement in the chapter. This section provides a sample alumni relations program for chapters, designed for the active undergraduate members.

MIT Alumni Association Assistance
The MIT Alumni Association provides assistance in event planning, communications, and finances.
