Class Treasurer Toolkit

The treasurer serves a critical role for the alumni class. While the president is responsible for overall leadership and for coordinating with all officers, the treasurer is the most called-upon officer involved in strategic planning and finances for every program the class undertakes. For more information about class treasurer duties and responsibilities, please see the class treasurer job description.

SmarTrans

The MIT Alumni Association developed SmarTrans, a Web-based application, to automate many of the tasks of group management for alumni volunteers. It allows groups to collect credit card payments for Dues and Events; consolidates group records into one accessible database; makes year-end reporting and tax filings easier; and facilitates registration processes for simple events. It also communicates with the Alumni Association database, which makes record keeping easier and more efficient.
