- To find alumni working in a particular field, use the Industry category under the Work tab in Browse by Category.
- Example: Manufacturing and Communications
- To find alumni doing a particular job, use the Function category under the Work tab in Browse by Category.
- Example: Teaching/Faculty
- Companies listed in the Company category under the Work tab in Browse by Category are listed in alphabetical order.
- To increase the comprehensiveness of Company searches, omit terms such as "Corp.", "Inc.", etc.
- Example: Enter "Microsoft" instead of "Microsoft Corp" or "Microsoft Corporation" in the text box under Search the Alumni Directory to find alumni working at Microsoft.
- The Detailed Record of an individual advisor includes, in addition to the standard directory information, comprehensive information about job duties, specialties, interests, and other comments supplied by the alumnus. Enter a search term in the search box under Search the Alumni Directory and select the ICAN Advisor Info category from the Search In Category drop-down menu to search these fields.
