Elections
Annual Elections
The Alumni Association conducts two annual elections. One is to elect new members to the Alumni Association Selection Committee. The other is to elect a recent graduate member to the MIT Corporation.
Alumni Association Selection Committee (AASC) election
The Alumni Association Selection Committee (AASC) is a 12-member committee responsible for selecting the president of the Alumni Association and all other members of the Association's Board of Directors. The chair of the AASC is appointed by the Board of Directors and must be a past president of the Alumni Association. The 11 other members, one from each of the Association's 11 electoral districts, are elected at large by the alumni body through an electronic or printed ballot that is distributed annually to all alumni.

Recent graduate Corporation election
Each year, one recent graduate is elected by his or her peers to a five-year term on the MIT Corporation, the Institute's board of trustees. The Alumni Association works closely with members of the Corporation Screening Committee to conduct this election. An electronic ballot is distributed annually to those eligible to vote—members of the current graduating class (undergraduate and graduate) and members of the two most recently graduated classes.
