About the Association

Keeping Alumni Connected

MIT alumni are members of one of the most diverse, talented, and invigorating communities in the world. The Alumni Association is a gateway to this community. The Association provides services and resources that strengthen alumni's ties to MIT and each other-across every stage of life and around the globe. Now that's an infinite connection.

Access benefits and services

Alumni Association membership has its privileges-and it's free. Take advantage of the benefits and services that are available to alumni.

Get involved

Use Alumni Association resources to fuel your intellect and access an international network of peers. Here are six ideas to get you started:

Give something back

Thousands of alumni volunteers work directly with the Association and the Institute and many more support MIT through donations to the Annual Fund. Volunteer opportunities range from contributing as a class or club officer, joining the Educational Council, to serving on the MIT Corporation.

See how the Association runs

The Alumni Association is governed by a 23-member Board of Directors. The board itself is chosen by the Alumni Association Selection Committee, which is elected by alumni. Learn more about the governance of the Association and its relationship to MIT.

Serve on boards or committees

Alumni volunteers serve in leadership positions on boards and committees. In these roles, they work in partnership with the Alumni Association to provide strategic oversight of all activities. See an overview of boards and committees and nominate candidates for leadership positions.

Make your vote count

Every spring, alumni help determine the future of both the Alumni Association and the MIT Corporation by electing members of the Alumni Association Selection Committee. Learn about the elections process and cast your vote.
